November have been a lot busier than previous months and the
hotels are fully booked during Christmas and New Year, if you are
considering peak season you should make your hotel booking
now.
Tiger Entertainment (disco) is expanding, they
have added about 50% more space to the club. At the moment it look
like a skeleton but it should be finished in few weeks.
Octopus, a new bar at Soi Seadragon opened recently,
it's located at ex. Sphinx a gogo, the first bar to the left side
when you enter the soi. They use many promotional signs so it catched
my eyes.
Rumours say The Shark club may re-open in January!
According to other rumours, Rock Hard Cafe will
open in Patong next year, they opened in Pattaya end of 2001, in
Bangkok recently and Patong may be their next target.

Montana Disco, a new disco located at Montana
Grand Phuket Hotel (old Hyton Marine Hotel) opposite Christin's
Massage will open in few days. I will be back with a report.
I can also mention that for late night, while the disco part of
Safari Pub & Disco close at 02 am the restaurant
part is open all night with cheap food and drinks. It's a nice environment
to bring your girlfriend to when the bars close.
London Bar on Soi Eric is sold and is now being
renovated, the new owner is from Sweden and the new name will be
Swedish Bar. Grand opening in few days.
Hooters Bar, the bars at Vegas Thai Boxing had
a staff party at Mai Thai Bar (soi eric). It was
a success and everybody had fun.
The stalls along the road Tiger entertainment/Vegas
boxing are moved into the vegas area were Take One once
had it's premises (but never succeeded and has been closed for a
long time). The walls to the tiger complex are removed and it is
now a open area for easy entrance to both Hooters/Vegas and the
new bars under Tiger disco. The new bars under Tiger
is now for sale and the area looks nice with a
waterfall inside the premises.

August were quite good, at least for me and my friends and I met
many nice people from France and Italy. If August was busy then
September is dead.
US Navy is here often now but they arrive with just small groups.
The bars in front of Tiger (on the second floor) has been removed,
there was a japanese bar called Little Cat and
a fast food vendor with chips & chips, they are gone now.
Soi Sunset, famous for it's late nightlife (well,
that's 3 years ago) is likely to get a recreation center.
The old bars behind Tai Pan were removed 6 months ago and the landlord
tried to rent out new shops/bars on the premises (according to advertising
in the classifieds) but it's now clear that the vacant lot will
become a recreation center open in time for high season. The new
complex is aimed at the local expat community and
ofcourse to other guests.
If Soi Sunset were late nightspot few years ago,
I can tell you that Soi Sansabai is the current
place for late nightlife. Many bars and restaurants
located here are open all night.
