Patong
changes all the time, if you haven't been here for the last year
or so you may be interested in this overview. This is not a complete
guide, just a rough overview of some of the changes here. The biggest
pride may be the new Patong municipaility headquarter and firestation
located on the road off Soi Sai Nam Yen (Patong City Hotel Rd).
Other
changes not documented by Photos are the new Tiger Disco located
on the second floor of the old 'Bangla Night Plaza' center, but
now they removed the shops on the first floor and created new bars
there with connection to the UB40 bar area behind. Soi Gonzo is
currently being revamped and look like a construction area at the
moment. Soi Eric has 4 new bars instead of the former shops and
exchange box. Off Sai Nam Yen we also have a new Bowling Alley and
Fishing/Bungy Jump park.
On
many places the long term lease expired this year and those areas
has been cleaned with everything removed, mostly small shops and
stalls.
The
south part of Rat-U-Thit Road has been developed heavily during
the last year(s). Patong is not a small beach destination anymore,
Patong is becoming a small town.

Before we had many nice and simple beach restaurants here
along the beachstrip but
