Jokes aside, this is a good question. A lot of the people on this forum are young/middle age men. We know we can go to places in Thailand and have fantastic sex with beautiful girls, but how many of us think in their mind that they would want to marry a Thai girl?
I dont want to get married ever, but , why do people think a Thai woman would be different?

Its expensive, the cultural differences are huge, and they are complete strangers. If you take them back to Europe or USA, they are out of their normal environment and they will want to be back home.

I even saw a photo on that site with a girl who already had a baby!! 'Come on clayzee Falang. Gib monee for mee and my baby. I lub you lonnnggggg time'

I would like to hear from anyone out there who has or is married to a Thai girl. Is it hard work? Is it better than with women of your own country?

a Thai dating service and don't know anyone that has. Know a couple of guys in my Town who married Thai girls. One who was a real stunner told her husband that she was working as a cleaner at night well she was cleaning but it wasn't the floors she was doing. Poor guy really was head over heels in love with her but how slow was he believing that line . I lost sight of her for a while heard she went to Australia to work then saw her two weeks ago at a massage parlour in town. She said she broke up with her husband a while back but noticed that she has become very hard and seemed to have a real chip on her shoulder. Cost in NZ at a massage parlour for an hour $160 cost for 12 hours in Phuket $50 ! .
Your right Mike most of those girls looked a bit rough on that site. Woman who does it is based in Phuket so suppose we know where most of the lookers are.

very good book on the subject of Thai brides is Bangkok Angel - it has a happy ending but loads of cautionary advice.

At one point I was thinking along these lines but came to my senses. The cultural differences are huge. I'm not prepared to fund a Thai family, and expect a western version of love - you know the romantic unconditional kind. Ahhhhhhhh !

Well, love in Thailand is all about providing. I guess it steams from the country being so poor that only providers are considered worthy partners - I don't know. What I do know is that the love you get is measured in direct proportion to the cash / time you spend. This is not meant to be a harsh critisism or have anything to do with the Bar Girl thing - it's just the way it is. This was my main problem and one, if I was honest I simply couldn't over come.

Things never really progressed but I felt that she would also have real issues living apart from Thailand.
Thai love thai. It's that simple.
They have very little apart from an increadible sense of community and fun just hanging out together. There is nothing more sad than a lonely Thai away from her beloved family and home. This is odd 'cos they all have this aspirational dream of going to the US or England - **** knows why 'cos all the Brits / Yanks want to go to Thailand !

This was not meant to be a long mail - just got that way, so to sum up, enjoy the pleasures of places like Pkt - it's a holiday Island with fun things to get up to ( He HE ) but it's not real life !

The grass may seem greener but it's still grass.
