Phuket
has a tropical climate with two seasons, a wet and a dry  monsoon
climate. The temperature does not differ that much between the two.
(Compared to central and northern Thailand with three seasons and
greater temperature differences.)
The best time to visit Phuket is during "High
Season" when it is not so humid, November to March. The average
temperature is around 24ºC to 32ºC (75ºF to 89ºF).
In Phuket it rains the most in May and September/October.
Remember
that travelling during rain season (or "Low Season") is
generally not bad, after a short period of heavy rain the sun will
shine for the most part of the day. If you want to swim or dive
you may avoid Phuket during June-August, there are often redflag
on the beach which means it is dangerous undercurrents which make
it unsafe to swim.
We stayed at this place along the road to phuket
town
when the heavy rain hitted us. Our bikes are left
in the rain and our helmets were filled with water :)
